Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura,the Croatian Foreign and European Integration Ministry said in astatement.
ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - Croatia's Foreign and European
Integration Minister Kolinda Granar Kitarovic, who was visiting Japan as a
member of Croatia's delegation attending the world exhibition EXPO 2005, met in
Tokyo on Monday with Japanese Foreign Minister Nobutaka Machimura, the
Croatian Foreign and European Integration Ministry said in a statement. The two ministers confirmed that relations between the two countries were
constantly improving, expressing confidence that Japan and Croatia would also
intensify economic cooperation and trade.
The Japanese minister said his country supported Croatia on its road to
the EU and NATO and recalled that Japan was providing technical assistance to
Croatia.
The two ministers also discussed the Japanese language department that
was opened at Zagreb's Faculty of Philosophy and the Japanese minister welcomed
Croatia's participation at the EXPO 2005 exhibition in the city of Aichi.
Grabar Kitarovic invited Machimura to pay a return visit to Croatia,
the statement said.
