Djukanovic held talks with the president of the European Parliament's delegation for Southeast Europe, Doris Pack. He said European and Transatlantic integration was Montenegro's priority and that the Montenegrin government was strongly committed to further reform.
"The immediate goals are a positive feasibility study for launching negotiations on stabilisation and association with the European Union, and membership in NATO's Partnership for Peace programme. Montenegro, its government and other state and social institutions are ready to meet every commitment in that respect," said Djukanovic.
According to a government press release, Pack said the essence of the double-track approach the EU adopted for the state union of Serbia and Montenegro should be carried through so that the two republics' efforts to meet European integration preconditions could be adequately evaluated.
