The police reported on Tuesday that the four men were suspected of people trade and slavery because they kept the girl in a rented flat, forced her into prostitution and after repeated physical abuse sold her to a man from the area of Sisak.
Some media speculated that the girl would be deported, but ministry officials dismissed the reports, saying that victims of people trade are not deported.
The officials said that the non-governmental organisation ROSA and the International Organisation for Migrations (IOM) Mission in Croatia had provided the necessary assistance and protection to the girl, including shelter and legal, medical, psychological and other help.
