Stressing that corruption was one of the greatest problems in all transition countries, the participants hailed last week's ratification of the UN Convention on the Struggle Against Corruption and Organised Crime in the Croatian Parliament.
They also announced that a ministerial conference will be held on February 16 to mark the fifth anniversary of the Stability Pact's Initiative.
A declaration is expected to be adopted at the end of the conference. It will be the foundation of a five-year action plan of a joint struggle against corruption and organised crime in eight countries of the region.
Representatives of the Initiative for the Fight Against Corruption on Tuesday met representatives of several competent state institutions with whom they agreed concrete forms of cooperation and measures aimed at improving communication among competent bodies in Stability Pact member countries.
