ZAGREB, Dec 27 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Wednesday sent a message to US President George W. Bush offering his condolences on the death of former US President Gerald Ford, who died on Tuesday at the age of 93, the Office of the President said in a statement.
ZAGREB, Dec 27 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic on Wednesday sent a message to US President George W. Bush offering his condolences on the death of former US President Gerald Ford, who died on Tuesday at the age of 93, the Office of the President said in a statement.

"He held the highest post at a time which changed the world in many ways, when US troops withdrew from Vietnam, and when the closing documents of the Helsinki conference were signed," Mesic said.

"President Ford will be remembered as the last staunch advocate of respect and exercise of human rights. His contribution to the promotion of those values on the global level is unquestionable," the message read.
