The Croatian officials informed Frei of the strategic objectives of Croatia's foreign policy, namely of the country's progress on the path to the European Union and NATO and Frei informed Seks of the work of the National Congress.
Seks also held talks with the president and members of the House of Representatives' Committee on Foreign Committee and used this opportunity to seeks Chile's support for Croatia's election for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in 2008. Two years ago, the then Chilean President Ricardo Lagos Escobar promised his country's support to Croatia's candidacy.
Seks is also scheduled to hold talks with the president of the House of Representatives Antonio Leal, after which Frei and Leal will present Seks with high decorations of the Chilean parliament.
The Croatian parliament speaker will continue his visit on Wednesday with talks with Chilean President Michelle Bachelet and Foreign Minister Alejandro Foxley.
