The purpose of the forum, organised by the Moldovan Ministry of the Economy and Trade, was to strengthen economic ties between the two countries, increase trade and make it possible for Croatian companies to participate in investment projects in Moldova.
Croatia wants to be present in infrastructure projects in Moldova because it has sufficient knowledge and experience, and it also wants to be an important partner in other investment projects in the country, Vukelic said.
Moldovan Economy and Trade Minister Igor Dodon underlined the importance of creating preconditions necessary for business enterprises from both countries to intensify their relations.
Dodon said that his country attached great importance to Croatia's experience in the process of adjustment and implementation of European legislation. He added that Moldova was also interested in Croatia's experience in the areas of new technologies, infrastructure and energy.
The forum, held as part of the visit of a Croatian business delegation headed by Vukelic, brought together representatives of around 50 Molodvan and 34 Croatian companies.
Moldova is expected to sign a treaty on accession to the Central Europe Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) in Bucharest on December 19.
Before the forum, Vukelic met Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, who said that the Croatian delegation's visit was yet another in a series of steps aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.
