Miroslav Bozic said the project was aimed at supporting the control system, namely that it supported the beneficiaries to develop an advanced monitoring system, which will ensure a new strategy for the safety of foods and provide an institutional framework for the implementation of the strategy.
The presentation of the project was organised by representatives of the Delegation of the European Commission in Croatia and the Croatian Ministry of the Agriculture, Forestry and water Management.
The project, which the EU financed with 1.75 million euros, was launched in April 2005 and it will end on 25 December this year, Bozic said.
Between 2001 and 2004, the European Union donated 257 million euros to Croatia as part of the CARDS programmes.
