Bacic stopped in Slavonski Brod before his visit to Bosanski Brod on the opposite bank of the Sava river where he is expected to hold talks with Bosnian Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister Mladen Zirojevic and the Serb entity's environment minister Srebrenka Golic about the local oil refinery.
Bacic said that he would present the refinery's owners with an annual report on air quality monitoring which shows that the upper limits for hydrogen sulphide and other pollutants were exceeded 84 times in Slavonski Brod last year.
"We will demand that Croatia be included in the process of issuing the environmental licence to the oil refinery in Bosanski Brod in accordance with the Espo convention," Bacic told reporters in Slavonski Brod after meeting local authorities.
He also announced the setting up of a fixed benzene gauger in Slavonski Brod and other measures to address air pollution in the city, caused by the refinery in the nearby Bosnian city.
