PRISTINA, Oct 19 (Hina) - A representative of the Serb national
minority in the Croatian parliament, Milorad Pupovac, said on Wednesday evening
in a Kosovo Serb enclave that Kosovo Serbs needed to form a strong political
party representing their interests as soon as possible, local Serb sources
reported. At a panel discussion in Gracanica, near Pristina, Pupovac
said that Serbs had very good representatives at the local level, but that
they were poorly organised at the level of the province. He said Kosovo Serbs
needed a strong political party which would help prevent political divisions in
Serbia affect Kosovo and vice versa.
Pupovac said Kosovo Serbs should not join interim Kosovo institutions
before organising themselves.
Pupovac cited the example of Croatian Serbs, stressing that the
organised Serb community in the country had helped create democratic
Croatia.
