PRISTINA, Sept 20 (Hina) - Top officials of the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Kosovo and international institutions and civil society on Wednesday most harshly condemned a bomb attack on a Serb returnee family in the Kosovo village of Klina, near Pec, in which four members of the Milorad Pavlovic family were injured.

The Pavlovic family returned to Kosovo a year ago.

UN Deputy Civil Administrator in Kosovo Steven Schook said violence cannot be means for achieving objectives, stressing this was not in the interest of Kosovo, UNMIK said in a statement. He also asked the UNMIK police to carry out a thorough investigation.

Representatives of Kosovo institutions and political parties say such incidents are aimed against the interests of Kosovo citizens. The reformist ORA party said the attack was an attempt to destabilise the situation and was aimed against Kosovo 's independence. Kosovo's Committee on the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms called on Serb returnees in Klina not to flee their homes.

The UN Development Programme (UNDP), which helped the Pavlovic family to return to Kosovo, condemned the attack.
