Wreaths were laid and candles were lit at the Memorial Cross in the centre of the village by families and representatives of local authorities, and a requiem mass was celebrated in the local church.
In May this year, the Vukovar County Prosecutor's Office indicted 17 persons for torturing and killing Croatian civilians and for looting their property from the autumn of 1991 until April 1992.
According to war victims' associations, 33 residents of Sotin are still listed as missing.
