In response to Sanader's criticism that they were trying to score cheap political points on the matter, Ivica Racan of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Josip Friscic of the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) said that it was Sanader who resorted to petty politicking over the matter.
Racan told reporters in the parliament headquarters that Sanader was trying to interpret the government's motion on activating the zone as a national interest, while at the same time he was accusing the Opposition of petty politicking for initiating the relevant procedure.
Commenting on Sanader's statement that earlier this week parliamentary parties met with the premier and adopted conclusions on the matter, Friscic said that no conclusions were made and that what the Government published yesterday were the minutes of the meeting written by the country's chief negotiator with the European Union, Vladimir Drobnjak.
