In line with the results of the 10 September parliamentary elections, the coalition of the Democratic Party of Socialists and the Social Democratic Party will have absolute power with 41 parliamentary seats.
A member of this coalition is the Croat Civic Initiative from Tivat, which for the first time since the introduction of the multiparty system in Montenegro has one seat in the parliament.
The strongest opposition party is the Serb List with 12 seats, while the Movement for Changes, and the coalition of the Socialist People's Party, the People's Party and the Democratic Serb Party will have 11 seats each.
The coalition of the Liberal Party and the Bosniak Party will have three seats, while three Albanian parties will have one deputy each.
The parliament will adopt the country's new constitution.
Deputies from pro-Serbian parties remained seated as the national anthem was played at the start of the session.
