"The Serbian government is only interested in territory and not at all in the future of the Serbian population in Kosovo, so that its offers are absurd and completely non-functional, and as such contrary to citizens' interests," Qeku said, according to a statement from his office, during talks with the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly rapporteur, Lord Russell Johnson, in Pristina on Tuesday.
Qeku reiterated his position that "only the independence of Kosovo would provide the necessary guarantees for the future of the country," and added that the vital interests of Kosovo would be achieved only through integration with the European Union.
Johnson favourably assessed ongoing processes in Kosovo ahead of final resolution of its status, saying that stability and functioning institutions should be ensured in the province.
