According to a press release issued by the ministry, being a part of the anti-terrorist coalition Croatia condemns every form of extremism and terrorism and it also condemns the use of territory of the sovereign democratic Republic of Lebanon for the attacks against the State of Israel and civilian targets in Israel.
Croatia believes that it is necessary to invest maximum efforts so as to ensure an immediate cease-fire and prevent further escalation of the conflict which might have serious or even immeasurable consequences for the peace and stability in the Middle East and wider.
Zagreb is in favour of the resumption of political negotiations on a lasting solution for this long-standing crisis and primarily for "the settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the main source of instability" in compliance with principles of the negotiating process that has been held so far.
The lasting solution implies making it possible for the State of Israel to enjoy peace and security and enabling the Palestinians to have their own stable country.
The Croatian Foreign Ministry is in contact with Croatian companies in Lebanon, Syria and nearby regions so as to be able to take protection measures for Croatian nationals staying there.
The Croatian Maritime Affairs and Transport Ministry has advised Croatian ships to avoid sailing near the area in concern.
