Parish priest Boris Pedic said the villagers did not gather for a protest rally but for a prayer for the detainees.
After the prayer, a proclamation was read out. In the proclamation, the villagers said, among other things: "At long last, we have our Croatia, and, as we like to say, the rule of law. As people who participated in and suffered the past events, we expected that those who did evil in Croatia would be called to account. Efforts were made in that regard, but that was all that happed.
We have recently witnessed acts of provocation to which our fellow villagers responded in an inappropriate way, but we can understand their despair and their response.
The law-based state acted promptly in their case, while those who caused all this can peacefully count off days until their evil deeds are forgotten... We are willing to forgive, but our forgiveness requires sincere regret from those who did evil. And yet, there is no regret."
After the proclamation was read out, participants in the rally dispersed peacefully. No incidents were reported during the event.
