This was the first launching of the project on the regional level. The next presentation will be held in Sisak on Thursday and the third in Djakovo in mid-September, the Transport and Development Ministry and the World Bank's Office in Croatia said.
The project is worth EUR60 million, with 35 million provided by the World Bank and 25 million by the Croatian government. It went into force in late September 2005 and is being implemented by the Transport and Development Ministry.
The project's aim is to help the economic and social revival of neglected and formerly war-struck areas, thus strengthening social cohesion, which is in keeping with the government's plan to join the European. The project covers 13 counties.
CSERP is a multi-sector project, with EUR36.5 million to be invested in the community, 17 million in demining, 3.5 million in institutional development, and three million in project management.
