The Osijek police issued a statement on Saturday afternoon dismissing accusations which Glavas, a member of parliament, made during a news conference earlier in the day in that eastern city.
The police said that this was yet another inappropriate attempt by Glavas to exert influence on the police and affect their regular activities.
Glavas told the press that the local police chief Faber was sending almost every day false reports to the Office of the State Prosecutor writing about Glavas's pressure on witnesses in an investigation which had been launched into his role in war crimes against civilians in Osijek in 1991.
