The exhibition, opened ahead of the start of Finland's Presidency of the European Union, marks the anniversary of the introduction of the general and equal right to vote at parliamentary elections in Finland.
The event gives a chronology of Finland's democracy and portrays the country's political system and Finland today.
The opening was also attended by the chairman of the Finnish parliament"s grand committee, Jari Vilen, who said Finland would unconditionally support EU enlargement. He said that all countries that met the Copenhagen criteria must have equal right to join the bloc, adding that his country would help the continuation of Croatia's EU membership talks.
