The first pilots will start their training at the Academy in 2007, and the Serbian army will continue intensive cooperation with the National Guard of the US state of Ohio, Polt said during a visit to the 172nd Serbian air force base at Batajnica, where two US F16 combat planes landed on Thursday.
In the two world wars we were on the same side and many US pilots owe their lives to their Serbian allies... The USA wants to cooperate with Serbia and will go as fast as you are ready to go, Polt said, adding that the two armies were cooperating in the joint fight against terrorism and trade in humans, weapons and drugs.
Serbian Defence Minister Zoran Stankovic said that Serbia was facing a period of successful cooperation with the USA and that it had the potential to improve the cooperation.
