ZAGREB, June 14 (Hina) - A group of Croatian war veterans, who on April 25 set out from Pakostan, Croatia, on foot to visit indicted Croatian general Ante Gotovina in The Hague, told reporters in Zagreb on Wednesday that they were dissatisfied with not having met the general.

The group of 12 veterans completed their 1,762-kilometre journey in 48 days. On June 13, the Day of St. Anthony, they planned to visit Gotovina but were denied permission by the UN tribunal.

The veterans had requested to meet Gotovina through his attorneys.

Another group of some 40 veterans arrived in The Hague by bus on June 12 to welcome the pilgrims.

According to the tribunal's rules, decisions like these are not commented on and we only spoke to the general on the telephone, said the leader of the Zagreb association of disabled war veterans, Ivan Pandza.

Slobodan Lang said that Croatian diplomats were not appropriately protecting the interests of the tribunal indictees and that they had failed to make it possible for the pilgrims to meet Gotovina.
