ZAGREB, May 30 (Hina) - A joint military exercise involving troops
from Albania, Croatia, Macedonia and the United States started in Albania on
Tuesday within the framework of the US-Adriatic Charter, the Croatian Defence
Ministry announced. The purpose of the exercise, dubbed "The
Adriatic Eagle", is to strengthen combat planning for urban warfare. About 100
officers from the four countries are participating.
Croatia sent a platoon-strength special purposes unit, including five
commissioned and 26 non-commissioned officers. It was the first time the
Croatian Air Force had flown Croatian special forces abroad for an exercise.
The exercise lasts until June 22.
