On this occasion, the leader of the Islamic community in Croatia, Mufti Sevko Omerbasic, welcomed the minister and his delegation.
Omerbasic once again thanked the Croatian authorities for enabling Muslim soldiers to honour their religion while serving in the Croatian army in accordance with an agreement which Minister Roncevic and he signed in October last year.
According to the agreement on the spiritual guidance of Muslim members of the Armed Forces, which Omerbasic described as a unique in Europe, the religious rights of both soldiers and officers are protected.
On this occasion, Roncevic said that the defence ministry was willing to further cooperation.
The leader of the association of Bosniaks (Muslims) who took part in Croatia's Homeland Defence War, Hamdija Malic, said that about 25,000 Bosniaks were engaged in the defence of Croatia.
Of them, 780 were killed in the war, he said.
A monument commemorating their sacrifice is to be erected outside the Zagreb mosque this year, according to the ministry's press release.
