LJUBLJANA, May 30 (Hina) - The Slovene parliament on Tuesday
nearly unanimously adopted a law which the government said was expected to
protect Slovene citizens interested in buying real estate in Croatia and at the
same time provide Croatian citizens with the possibility to buy real estate in
Slovenia. Fifty-three deputies were in favour and four were against
the law on the attainment of ownership by physical and legal persons from
candidate countries for accession to the European Union.
A representative of the Foreign Ministry told deputies that the law was
aimed at providing Slovenes with the possibility to buy real estate in Croatia
without restrictions.
