Osijek-Baranja County Prefect Kresimir Bubalo was elected party president.
The Croatian Democratic Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja is a party of young and educated people and it will be the strongest party in this region because it is already starting with preparations for the parliamentary elections, Bubalo said at the session.
The head of a civil association with the same name, Branimir Glavas, said that those forecasting the disappearance of the association, should he be arrested, were wrong because the association's membership was increasing each day and it currently numbers 7,600 members.
"My message is that I was always coming out of battles as the winner and I promise that I will come out as the winner of this war, the political process staged against me by Vladimir Seks, Ivo Sanader and Tomislav ivic," Glavas said.
The founding session was also attended by the president of the Croatian Party of Rights and Osijek Mayor, Anto Djapic, who said he would support Glavas in parliament on Wednesday when a debate on stripping Glavas of his parliamentary immunity is scheduled to take place.
At today's founding session, Vladimir Sisljagic and Ines Teskara were elected HDSSB vice presidents. Osijek Baranja County Deputy Prefect Dinko Buric was elected president of the party's head committee.
