Speaking to reporters about the Catholic Church in Europe and Croatia and its role in the process of integration with the EU, Bozanic said that it was important to build a public consensus on the common good and put the common good above individual interests and provide the public with information on the integration process.
Attending the news conference were also the Archbishop of Budapest and president of the Hungarian Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Peter Erdo, and Msgr. Noel Treanor, Secretary General of the Commission of the Bishop"s Conferences of the European Community.
Cardinal Erdo spoke about his country's experience with the EU in the last two years while Treanor spoke about the future role of churches in Europe.
The Croatian Bishops Conference is holding its regular spring convention which started on Tuesday and will end on Friday.
