ZAGREB, April 27 (Hina) - The Croatian oil company INA has unjustifiably raised petroleum prices to an intolerably high amount without consulting the competent ministry and the Government, Prime Minister Ivo Sanader told reporters on Thursday after a meeting of members of his cabinet and INA representatives.

Responsibility must be assumed and more information will be available after today's extraordinary session of the Government, Sanader said.

At today's session, the Government will propose the introduction of floating excise duties and the reduction of gas excise taxes by 0.1 kuna which would result in 150 million kuna less in the state budget on an annual level.

The Government decided to take this measure because calculations show that INA's selling price of gas was currently the highest in the region, excluding Bosnia-Herzegovina, and because the price of oil on the world market this morning dropped from 75 to 71 dollars per barrel, Sanader said.
