ZAGREB/GRAZ, April 22 (Hina) - Croatia's Economy Minister Branko
Vukelic on Saturday in Graz attended an informal meeting of the EU
Competitiveness Council which discussed different ways of boosting the
competitiveness of the economies of the EU and its future member-countries. Vukelic told Hina that the meeting focused on changes in the
legislation aimed at liberalising trade in the EU and on investment into
technological innovations and the linking of clusters.
"Those goals are envisaged also in the programmes of the Croatian
government and it was useful to hear about the EU's experience in that area,"
Vukelic said.
The two-day meeting in Graz was attended, along with economy ministers
from the EU, by their colleagues from candidate countries and countries
aspiring to join the EU.
