the construction of a shipyard on the Danube atVukovar.
VUKOVAR, April 21 (Hina) - The "Borovo" company from Vukovar and
the Trogir-based R.L.E. "Obrt" company for the construction and overhaul of
metal ships presented in the eastern Croatian town on Friday a EUR 49 million
project on the construction of a shipyard on the Danube at Vukovar.
Presenting the project, an advisor for R.L.E. "Obrt", Ognjen Antunac, said that
the shipyard would be built on a 40,000 square metre area.
The two companies will have to ensure around EUR 36 million for the
project. The government will provide EUR 13 million for the shipyard
infrastructure which it will keep as its property for which it will grant a
concession.
The shipyard will build smaller ships, up to 100 metres wide and 20
metres long, with the carrying capacity of 2,000 tonnes.
The shipyard will employ some 800 workers.
