His HighnessMohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Tuesday arrived in Zagreb to lobbyfor her election as president of the International Federation forEquestrian Sports (FEI).
ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - Princess Haya, a daughter of late
Jordanian King Hussein I and Queen Alia and a wife of the leader of Dubai and
the current Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Mohammed
Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Tuesday arrived in Zagreb to lobby for her election
as president of the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). Princess Haya met representatives of local federations from Croatia,
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Serbia-Montenegro, Macedonia, the Czech Republic,
Slovakia and Belarus, to present her platform and candidacy for the post of
FEI president.
I am happy to be in Zagreb again, and I hope that I will persuade other
members of my family to visit this beautiful country, the princess, an avid
sportswoman who participated in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia,
representing Jordan, told a news conference in Hotel Sheraton in Zagreb.
She was in Zagreb in 1996 when she took part in an equestrian world
cup.
