A minute's silence was observed by deputies of Milosevic's Socialist Party, the Radical Party and the Montenegrin-based Democratic Serbian Party. Members of the Democratic Party of Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica remained seated, while other deputies walked out of the parliament chamber.
The session opened with a debate on a bill outlining measures against the property of fugitives from the Hague war crimes tribunal.
The parliament of Serbia and Montenegro has 126 deputies -- 91 from Serbia and 35 from Montenegro. The adoption of decisions requires votes in favour from at least 46 deputies from Serbia and 18 from Montenegro.
