WASHINGTON, April 5 (Hina) - Croatian scientist Ivan Djikic on
Tuesday received an award for outstanding achievement in cancer research from
the prestigious American Association for Cancer Research. The award,
which Djikic received at the AACR annual congress in Washington, is the
greatest international recognition to scientists under the age of 40 engaged in
cancer research.
Djikic received the award for his pioneering contribution in the area
of negative regulation of growth factor receptors. He is the first scientist
from Europe who received the prestigious award.
