ZAGREB, March 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Medical Association (HLK)
has denied the statement made by Health Minister Neven Ljubicic at a government
session on Wednesday that after months of talks the social partners,
associations of patients and professional organisations supported a set of
reform bills in the health sector. "It is not true that the HLK
supported the government's package of reform bills or the National Strategy for
Health Development for 2006-2011. At the meeting with Minister Ljubicic on 13
March it only stated its remarks about the proposed legislation," HLK President
Hrvoje Minig said in a statement.
The meeting involved professional associations of dentists,
pharmacists, biochemists and nurses. All the associations adopted a joint
document, which was presented to the minister, rejecting the proposed National
Strategy and offering their assistance in preparing a more effective strategy
and health laws.
