The shipment of the aid was organised by the state administration of emergency services after Slovakia appealed urgently for the help through the NATO-led European Atlantic disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC), the said Croatian agency reported.
On early Tuesday morning, the shipment of 25,000 sandbags started from Osijek for Slovakia where three rivers: the Vah, the Danube and the Morava have flooded central and western areas of the country.
Croatia and Slovakia have already signed a bilateral agreement regulating mutual assistance in disasters.
