PRISTINA, March 11 (Hina) - Death prevented Slobodan Milosevic
from facing justice and a prison sentence for war crimes and genocide committed
during the wars in Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo in the 1990s, the
newly-appointed Prime Minister of Kosovo, Agim Qeku, said on Saturday following
news of the former Yugoslav president's death. Qeku said in a
statement that Milosevic's policies would be condemned despite his death and
expressed hope that Bosnian Serb wartime leader Radovan Karadzic and his
military commander Ratko Mladic would be brought to justice soon.
"Serbia now has an opportunity to build a democratic future, restore
relations with its neighbours, and critically re-examine its past in which it
provoked many wars," the statement said.
