Saying it was a pity that Milosevic had not lived through the trial and had escaped sentencing, Tihic told the local media that the former Yugoslav and Serbian President bore the greatest responsibility for the break up of the former Yugoslav federation and for the wars in Croatia and Bosnia.
"It's a pity that the trial had not been completed, for the sake of the victims, the truth and justice," Tihic said.
He said he was confident that Milosevic's death would not have a negative impact on the course of the trial of Serbia and Montenegro before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague for aggression and genocide in Bosnia.
