The agreement, signed by Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Serbia and Montenegro, regulates the legal status of the Sava as an international river and establishes an international regime on the Sava and its navigation path. The agreement also foresees the setting up of of an international commission for the Sava River Basin with headquarters in Zagreb.
Deputies also supported the ratification of changes to the protocol of the convention on protecting the sea against pollution from land-based sources, under which all signatory countries would receive full and timely information about pollution and its impact on the environment, as well as measures aimed at removing pollution sources.
A bill on the ratification of the stature of the Croatian Agency for Monitoring Financial Services was adopted without a debate.
