ZAGREB, March 4 (Hina) - The Democratic Centre's (DC) Main
Committee concluded at Saturday's session that the real reasons for the recent
break-up of the party's coalition with the ruling Croatian Democratic Union
(HDZ) lay in the strengthening of the DC's political identity as a centre
party, the DC said in a press release. Decisions on whether to
continue the coalition with the HDZ on the local level will be made
autonomously by the DC's municipal, city and county committees, the press
release said, adding that the party would continue to work on the strengthening
of the rule of law and the suppression of corruption at all levels of
authority.
The DC will continue to work towards stopping the sale of the remaining
national riches and to preserve them with the establishment of the Croatia
Fund, the press release said, adding that the party would continue with the
affirmation of the centre political option and the building of a democratic and
civic society.
