"This is the 15th burglary into the facilities of our parish over 16 years. This year, there have been four burglaries. They obviously have not happened by chance," the parish priest Andrija Anisic was quoted by the broadcaster as saying.
The thieves broke five doors, stole money and searched through the archives, while the police were patrolling around the adjacent church.
The priest sent an open letter to the mayor and to the local authorities asking for round-the-clock police protection for the parish's facilities.
This parish of Saint Rocco is in the centre of Subotica, and one of the largest Croatian Catholic parishes in the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina.
