Kosor meets Turkish business people in Istanbul

ZAGREB/ISTANBUL, Nov 27 (Hina) - Please note that the very first sentence of the news item headlined "Kosor meets Turkish business people in Istanbul" should read correctly "If part of the Croatian government's investment projects are launched, Croatia's GDP growth in 2011 could be higher than the predicted 1.5 per cent, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said after meeting Turkish business people in Istanbul on Saturday."

Following is the corrected news item:

If part of the Croatian government's investment projects are launched, Croatia's GDP growth in 2011 could be higher than the predicted 1.5 per cent, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said after meeting Turkish business people in Istanbul on Saturday.

She said the business people were presented the Croatian government's economic recovery programme and "most importantly, 30 major investment projects," adding that the participants in the meeting were given a catalogue detailing the projects.

Kosor said Turkish business people were interested in investing in Croatia, from tourism and energy to infrastructure, adding this meeting was "an excellent introduction to a big Croatian-Turkish economic forum that will take place here in mid-December."

Kosor said one of those 30 "very concrete" projects included the development of Zagreb's airport.

Asked if tenders had been invited and if that meant that potential investors would apply, she said "it seems so, although I have to be careful when it comes to investments and these projects."

She added that today's meeting was in keeping with her agreement with Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan "that we would focus on boosting economic cooperation."
