Participants in the event agreed that infrastructure, the energy sector, the pharmaceutical industry and tourism were fields where bilateral economic cooperation could be upgraded.
Trade between Albania and Croatia has been on a decrease for several years.
In 2005, it amounted to a modest 22.5 million dollars, with Croatia's exports accounting for over 21 million.
Over the past seven years, Albania has increased its gross domestic product twofold and launched many infrastructure projects, including the construction of a highway from the capital of Tirana to the major seaport of Durres. Several Croatian companies have been engaged in it.
The two countries' chambers of the economy signed a cooperation agreement today.
