As soon as it found out that the swan had tested positive for an H5 virus on Saturday, the Agriculture Ministry undertook every measure as if the strain was the lethal H5N1 so that no additional measures need to be carried out now, ministry spokesman Mladen Pavic told Hina.
All domestic poultry, a total of 1,195 birds, was killed within a three-kilometre radius of the nature park and all facilities where the poultry had been staying was disinfected, Pavic said, adding that the birds would be buried.
