In their coverage of Pardew's visit, all newspapers in Pristina on Thursday quoted him as saying that the number of the NATO-led KFOR peacekeeping force would not be reduced.
The US diplomat said that no decision had yet been made on the future role of the Kosovo Protection Corps, a civilian organisation for emergency situations which arose from the former Kosovo Liberation Army.
According to the Albanian-language daily Ekspres, Pardew did not rule out the possibility of the Kosovo Protection Corps being included in Kosovo's security structures some time in the future.
Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu said on Wednesday that the Kosovo Protection Corps would soon be transformed into a Kosovo Army.
