About 250 of the 750 employees working in the Coca-Cola bottling plants in Zagreb and Solin and the distribution centre in Pozega went on strike after the process of reconciliation failed on Wednesday evening.
The strikers stopped production and blocked access to the warehouses, stressing that they would not resume work until their demands were met. They said their wages had not increased over the past ten years.
The company's managing board said that the strike was illegal and that they would seek a ban from the relevant authorities. They said there would be no shortages of Coca-Cola products on the Croatian market because the company would hire other hauliers.
