ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - Leaders of six trade union federations onWednesday failed to reach a consensus at a meeting with Prime MinisterIvo Sanader which was dedicated to the issue of working hours inshops.
ZAGREB, Feb 1 (Hina) - Leaders of six trade union federations on Wednesday failed to reach a consensus at a meeting with Prime Minister Ivo Sanader which was dedicated to the issue of working hours in shops.

Some union federations oppose a ban on shops working on Sundays, some support it, while some advocate a partial ban.

Sanader said that he advocated introducing into the Law on Commerce a regulation under which workers working on Sundays would be paid extra.

He said that the law would be discussed next week at a meeting with representatives of the Employers Association, the Chamber of Crafts and the Chamber of the Economy.
