Regardless of its size, every country can and should give its contribution. I appreciate Croatia's active contribution to the United Nations which has far surpassed its size, the UN Secretary General said in the interview published in Wednesday's issue of the Croatian newspaper.
Croatia's membership in the United Nations Security Council in 2008-2009 is seen by Ban Ki-moon as the recognition of Zagreb's important role and contribution to the maintenance of international peace and security.
According to him, Croatia's application for its second membership in the Peacebuilding Commission for the 2012-2013 period bears witness to the country's continued commitment to the UN plans for peace and security.
