ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - The Croatian association of deaf and blindpersons called 'Dodir' (Touch) on Wednesday received a HandicapInternational award for the best practice in ensuring support servicesfor disabled persons in
southeastern Europe.
ZAGREB, Jan 25 (Hina) - The Croatian association of deaf and blind
persons called 'Dodir' (Touch) on Wednesday received a Handicap International
award for the best practice in ensuring support services for disabled persons
in southeastern Europe. The French-based international organisation
bestowed its traditional annual award on the Croatian association for its
dedicated efforts to create a society based on differences.
According to the citation, over the past 11 years 'Dodir' has
contributed to the adoption of laws that facilitated the status of disabled
persons in Croatia and made education available to deaf and blind persons.
The award has also brought 4,000 euros to the association.
