The imports of Russian gas was normalised last night and Croatia is importing 131,000 cubic metres per hour, the chief national gas producer and supplier said and the Croatian Economy Ministry confirmed.
INA officials, however, called on the public to be rational in using gas because, as they said, it is difficult to foresee further development of events between Russia and Ukraine.
Russia cut gas supplies to Ukraine on Sunday as the two nations failed to resolve a price dispute by a Saturday deadline.
Croatia produces some 60 percent of its natural gas needs and imports the remaining 40 percent exclusively from Russia.
INA officials said the current situation in the gas supply system was stable, given the satisfying weather conditions.
The oil concern said the absolute priority in gas supply was mass consumption and that gas supply to industrial users have already been reduced.
