According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, the number of foreign guests rose by 11.4 percent and their overnight stays rose by 9.9 percent to 14.12 million in comparison to the January-September period in 2004.
In the first nine months last year, there were ten more registered travel agencies than in the comparative period in 2004. They employed 3,958 workers, the Bureau reported on Monday.
According to the national structure of the 1.96 million foreigners, there were 500,600 Germans, followed by 258,300 Italians.
The number of Czech holiday-makers who arrived in Croatia via travel agencies was 150,500.
